Tricks and tips to get the optimal rental experience:

Get the most from your rental home budget:

  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is high season in the Cape Fear area area. Reserve your Cape Fear area vacation home in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides contain deals for local accommodations and attractions.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Choose your vacation week and max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Great Family Vacation Rental With All The Amenities Available! has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking websites. If not, call the property manager before booking the home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine what is best for your vacation group.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Advice for your stay:

  • Add the owner's information to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
  • Upon arrival, record any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Be respectful. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property a final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on good ratings to compel more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
