Finding the best Carolina Beach rental home experience:
When to reserve a Cape Fear area rental & When to go:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To get the best value, try changing your vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer great weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines have deals for local accommodations and attractions.
How to select the perfect rental:
- Select a group lead, select your trip dates, and select a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. 2 BR Oceanfront Condo Perfect for Relaxing has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before booking the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what is best for your family.
- If there's a certain Cape Fear area attraction you crave, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or applied to your contract.
More tips for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- Upon check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few problems.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a great time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
