Tips and Tricks to get the very best Cape Fear area vacation rental experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in Bald Head Island. To get the largest rental for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Cape Fear area attractions.
  • The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Look for your local Cape Fear area area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, travel guides have coupons for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Begin by choosing the best vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Park Place: On The Commons Park in Cape Fear Station, Walk to East Beach has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area rentals search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what is right for your vacation.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or charges may be applied to your contract.

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • At Check-in, record any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of concerns.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on good ratings to propel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
