Sit on the deck to watch the striking sunrise over the beach, then walk to Granny's Country Kitchen for a delicious hearty breakfast in the morning. Spend the day at the beach calming, maybe catch a wave or two, build some sandcastles with the kids, and then walk over to Ocean Grille's Tiki Bar for a few relaxing drinks. Check out the rides, arcade and the array of delicious food at the boardwark in the early evening.

On Sunday nights in summer, Carolina Lake across from the boardwalk offers complimentary movies at the park in the summer. On the short walk up to the boardwalk & lake, head into Pops ice cream and pick up a special treat for the family. Can life get any better?

Getting the most from your budget:

  • In the Cape Fear area area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Cape Fear area area. To get the best value, try changing your family's Cape Fear area vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months.   • Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to drive more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective.
