Tricks and tips to get the best vacation property experience:

Get the most from your spending budget:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Sunset Beach. Reserve your Cape Fear area rental in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Cape Fear area area travel guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Select a group lead, select your trip dates, and choose a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Private WIFI, Sunset rated top 23 beaches in world by Nat\/Geographic has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking pages. If not, contact the host before reserving the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what configuration is best for your vacation.
  • Looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking
  • If your group is bringing pets, you must book a property that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.

More tips for your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. text the rental manager immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a great source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
  • At departure, complete a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a terrific stay? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
