Tips and Tricks for getting the best Cape Fear area vacation home experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Wrightsville Beach. Booking in Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property managers typically offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Cape Fear area area visitors guides which include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Selecting the perfect vacation home in the Cape Fear area area:

  • To start, have your family decide on the best dates and a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Sound front home with boat slip in the heart of WB! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before you reserve the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or may be applied to your invoice.

More tips for your visit:

  • Add the owner's information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the property manager right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on good ratings to drive more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
