Getting the best Cape Fear area rental experience:

Sticking to your budget:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer time is high season in Carolina Beach. To book the best rental home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular Cape Fear area attractions.
  • Some property management companies offer promotional rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Booking websites typically offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Many management companies supply Cape Fear area area travel guide magazines which include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to pick the perfect rental:

  • Start by having your family commit to a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. The Hideout at CB Sum has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking pages. If not, email the property owner before you book the rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine which bed configuration is right for your family.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .

Know before you go:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of problems.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
  • Note any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if a dispute arises.
  • Be respectful. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • At departure, take a walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to drive future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
