Getting the best Carolina Beach rental home experience:

When to reserve a Cape Fear area rental & When to go:

  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is high season in Carolina Beach. Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Cape Fear area area visitors guides which include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or charges may be applied to your invoice.
  • Visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and look for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on good reviews to inspire new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
