How to get the best vacation property experience:

When to visit & When to book:

  • Reserve your vacation in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked very early. Booking your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property managers often offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Cape Fear area area travel guide magazines which include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Choose your dates and spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Four Winds, Carolina Beach Oceanfront Condo, North End has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area rental home search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking pages. If not, email the property management company before you book the home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what configuration is optimal for your vacation.
  • If there's a specific Cape Fear area attraction you crave, keep an eye out for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
  • If your group is traveling with pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.

During your stay:

  • Add the owner's contact info to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Document any issues with the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your peace. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to propel new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
