Tricks and tips to get the best rental experience:

When to go & When to reserve a Cape Fear area rental home:

  • To get the best value, try shifting your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites typically offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Cape Fear area area travel guide magazines which will include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Choosing the best vacation home:

  • First, have your family decide on dates and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Hemingway Retreat: 2 BR, 2 BA Apartment in Wilmington, Sleeps 4 has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before you reserve your rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
  • Looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your stay, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. message the rental manager immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of issues.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific source for finding the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a excellent time? Many rental managers make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
